That Mitt Rumpy is he an ex sleasy car salesman or is it just me?

I think this is the time americans need to return the encumbant to the white house!

The last time they did that and voted in that idiot George Dubya Bush for a second term what a disaster that was, I remember some satire show that showed him talking to a sock called 'Professor Leebstrom' anyway I thought it was funny.

Obama is the best guy in this election even though he is being blamed for everything under the sun, you now have Mitt who introduced his running mate as the next president of the united states, what a prick.

He is just a jumped up sleasy ex car salesman that would sell you a heap of junk on 4 wheels with a flashover paint job that would break down in weeks for you only to discover the warranty he sold you with the vehicle isn't worth the paper its written on.

He came over to the UK and annoyed everyone he came into contact with, maybe that was because he came accross as a sleaseball car salesman and we hate them, so us brits hope you yanks make the right choice come election day and vote for the guy already in the white house.

Re: That Mitt Rumpy is he an ex sleasy car salesman or is it just me?

I have no love for talking politics online. When we were setting this place up we knew a politics forum could be a good traffic driver, that much we all agreed but the other thing we all agreed on was that no one here wanted to moderate such a forum. I'm not apolitical, I keep abreast of the issues and do what I can to make informed choices in the voting booth but the hyperbole on both sides drives me insane.

I think we've lost the notion of a loyal opposition, the fundamental understanding that all of us want to do what's best for the country and recognizing that that is what we are trying to do despite the fact that we don't agree as to what that best thing is.

I also think it's a lot easier to demonize the other side than it is to find neutral ground and the really sad thing is the more support you gain by demonizing the other side the less support you'll have for finding a reasonable compromise. Consensus will never be popular to either extreme but it is the basis of government.

So yea, I think Mitt Romney has a moral compass that points straight to his pocketbook but President Obama uses a weather vein to direct his policy initiatives. I ain't complaining, I'm just calling them like I see them. I don't view it as the role of this place to endorse any candidate or party but it's completely within this site's mission to say when we're being screwed. If you ask me (and I know you didn't) the most conservative Senator and the most liberal House Member have more mutual self interest with each other than either of them have with any of us, in so far as both of them are preoccupied with the games they need to play to get reelected.

And those games aren't played by rules which favor the spectators, that much we can all agree.

I would HATE to see political threads on this board, and thought there weren't going to be any. I would like this thread to be deleted before it sets a precedent and I am not even going to comment on whether or not I agree with it, even though the keyboard beckons.

NOTHING personal. I am 110% NOT apolitical, but have refrained from starting anything like a political thread here. There are plenty of other places to do that.

    PLEASE ADMIN.

I nearly warned you that you had set the cat among the pidgeons when I saw your post. I wondered what had prompted you. Let it out friend. Who has got on your proverbial tits? Hope it is not me. We are mates of long standing!

Re: That Mitt Rumpy is he an ex sleasy car salesman or is it just me?

You know folks, as I mentioned above we've always had trepidations about political topics here. I replied to the topic and don't regret what I said but after sleeping on it, kinda regret that I said anything.

There are a lot of forums on the net that better lend themselves to political debate and if you enjoy that sort of thing I invite you to visit them, but I don't think we want to do it here. We're all contentious people, we all have strong opinions, we all love to argue and because we're here we're arguing about scams. I'd like to keep it that way.

So I'm making an apology to the forum and our members and I'm closing this thread. Any questions, comments or complaints can be directed to me by PM or as always, if you just want to yell at me you can do so in the rants forum. But at least for now, we're not a venue for political debate.

    Thank you.
