Well then why not just carry on doing whatever you're doing rather than raking over it all again on this site?

    I don't get it.

Neither the Ashley Madison dating site or the Naked news is porn or even close to soft porn.

I don't know why you can't be honest about the reasons why you dislike the site so much.

I have only been reading some of the posts on this site for a few days and I can plainly see that you (and quite a few others) have issues born out of personality clashes with some of the mods and ex-mods on scam.

Fine if you want to split because you feel you are being dealt with unfairly ( Hell, I joined a splinter site in 2004 when shills and proponents of the Juiceboosted scam made it impossible to post proof that it was scam) but at least be up-front with your reasons and don't try to cloud the issue with porn links or whatever.

    People just won't buy it.

Re: George the Gorilla in That Jungle -- Scam.com

George's Mods totally stab him in the back. The hot topic today is how to block the porn ads. That is how George makes money and supposedly those ads fund that website. Well, the Supermod and her grunt Mods are discussing how to go about blocking the ads. Unbelievable!

If you're using firefox, you can install AdBlock. It means you'll never see an advertisment anywhere on the internet ever again.

No ads at the top of the page. No ads in posts. No ads on any page you view, anywhere.

    Just one click to install.
    The SuperMod responds:
    Cool! It works!!

    Thanks for the info.

The hallmark of a well run website no doubt. The Mods are the nemeses of the owner. Keep sabotaging the owners revenue generating activities! Absolutely hilarious!

Gazza you are over there telling folks how to block the ads, so obviously lots of other people dislike the ads as well and you are more than happy to help them make George's revenue producing activities poof --- disappear.

So, are people going to buy that you are supprtive of the site when you are sabotaging the owners revenue generating activities?

Actually, it was Kazza who posted the links to AdBlocker but let's not let the truth get in the way of a good lie, huh?

And besides, If you truly feel the way you say you do about ads with links to such sites, I would have thought you would be in favour of any information on how to stop the ads from appearing by congratulating the people who brought it up.

I think your just bitching for the sake of it.

Gazza, kazza, she was off by one letter.

And besides, If you truly feel the way you say you do about ads with links to such sites, I would have thought you would be in favour of any information on how to stop the ads from appearing by congratulating the people who brought it up.
I'm rather sure she is, but your earlier post seemed to imply that the porn links were a less than honest complaint for us to make about the place. SBM was pointing out that others, including some of the staff over there were willing to deprive the owner of ad review to avoid seeing them. Which would seem to prove the complaint is legitimate.

I think your just bitching for the sake of it.

    .
George never (or almost never) responds to feedback, so more or less any bitching about the place is just for bitching sake. Which actually is one of the biggest things I bitched about. Ironic.

Pardon me Gazza and kazza. My bad. That doesn't change the fact though that posters and the Mods are actively setting themselves up so they don't have to view the ads. That does sabotage the owner they are publically representing. Telling folks how to avoid seeing and thus clicking on those ads kills the only form of revenue generation for the owner. He should "hire," and I use this term loosely as one will get paid nothing, get no respect and almost never get a response from the goof, folks that support him and his site completely in the manner he chooses to run that porn heap / dump.

    Domaintools says:
Website Title: scams - report the scam here
    Title Relevancy100%
Meta Description:Message board for posting various scams. Powered by VBulletin.
    Relevancy:55% relevant....
    DMOZ Title:Report Scams Here
DMOZ Description:The scam message board allows consumers to post their bad experiences and inform the public.
    DMOZ Category:/ Society / Issues / Business / Allegedly Unethical Firms /
Yahoo Description:Message board provides discussions about contest, charity, Internet, insurance, investment, lottery, MLM, mail order, and other kinds of scams and fraud.
Yahoo Category:/ Society and Culture / Crime / Types of Crime / Fraud /
We should be sure to correct them and these nice folks here about what the site is really about now.

George is an absolute laughing stock on the net with his Mods, especially one in particular, always making disparaging remarks about him across the net and countermanding him every step of the way. And, no, I do not wish to be on sites with porn or soft porn or those "DATING" ads, so I am not!

What people? You mean you. You Gazza. I don't see anyone else agreeing with you. You don't speak for every member and poster on this site, Gazza. If you don't believe or understand someone or anyone on here again, that's your problem. And why do you keep comming here and defending Scam? That's all you have done for two days now. Seems like you enjoy continuinly stirring the pot. You keep making weak excuses for everything that goes on over at Scam and defending the owner and putting down whatever people here are trying to tell you.

You are preaching to the crowd....a crowd made up of people who have already made up their minds. You keep discounting everyone and every point they try to make to you. Why is that? Why can't you just accept the fact, that this is how people feel and stop of accusing them of lying and being dishonest when they are not. This is getting really old and it's rather insulting.

Instead of telling me to carry on, why don't you do the same? People here are entitled to feel the way they do and have their opinions. The fact that you don't like them, and don't agree with them, is simply too bad. And speaking of "bitching", that's all you have contributed since you got here. lol And yes you did tell people on here just to block out the ads. Kazza put up the link on Scam but you have reiterate that fact several times, now. We heard it the first time. Some people choose not to be bothered and don't want to go to Scam. Period. That is their right. Get it?

You don't seem to get or understand all the reasons that many posters no longer participate at Scam. That's fine and that's your issue. Let it go.

You need to at some point, accept what people are saying and feeling here as they are entitlted to those opinions and feelings. You don't seem to think so though, apparently. You are not going to sway anyone or change anyone's mind, so it's just pointless to continue to argue with everyone about Scam and telling them they are wrong on each and every point that they try to present to you. It's not neccessary to keep belittling their comments, views and feelings unless you just happen to enjoy doing so. If it bothers you so much that people have moved away from that site and are trying to move on, oh well. It's not the fricking end of the world, already. Let people alone and let them them choose what they think is best for them to do. We get that you love scam, we get that you think everyones opinions, reasons and feelings are rubbish. You don't have to keep saying it, ad nauseam. We get it. We got it yesterday. Give it a rest. People don't need to constantly be defending themselves and explaining themselves to you. If you don't get it, you don't get it. Let them be. Is that so difficult for you to do? Cripes.

I think people's reasons vary, and some are more influenced by the incursion of soft porn ads than others. For some it is just the last straw that broke the camel's back and for others its a major issue. Just depends on the individual.

What I suspect is behind most people's motives for preferring this site over scam.dot.com, to a greater or less degree, is the concern that they can no longer rely on being able to post proof of scams. Too many important threads have disappeared for one reason or the other over the past couple of years - the YTB, the ASD and Buzzirk/ Global Verge threads are only a handful of examples.

The addition of serious conflicts, bannings and now soft porn links have only crystalized the concern to the point where an alternative site for scam busting has been started.

In any event Gazza, it is not an either/or choice for most readers and many posters. As adults they are able to make up their minds whether they want to read one or both site. Lets face it, we are considered old enough to click on George's soft porn links, so I guess we are old enought to decide what to read.

Once the fuss has died down, both sites will continue to gain or lose popularity on their merits as scam busters. I dont remember that scam.dot.com had any monopoly rights. Relax. What will be will be.

She was Banned by Lady Mod in mid May for three days (I believe it was May 21st-24th) It created a never ending tiff between the two.

I think eventually they will sort the kinks out.... but it is going to take time to heal the wounds.

Nothing to sort out friends. We are both admins at our respective sites and never the twain shall meet.

Now, if you want to remain a Founding Member I think you will need to earn that title Subway. RS set out the parameters for that special honor and he will be making those titles permanent. We have a great site building here.

Excellent post! Best one of the whole thread!

Let's see if your theory holds up and the angry members of this site can let go of their animosity towards a site they say they will never revisit and move forward.

Continually posting threads knocking another site is bad form and doing it without expecting a backlash is naive in the extreme.

The posters who say that they will never visit scam.dot.com again are totally within their right to say so and those who do revisit are also within their right to do so. I agree with Wishful. It's not an either/or situation, but recent events have influenced a lot of us to stay away and certainly to stop logging in.

Since I learnt that the owner is the owner of a lot of porn sites, it has taken away a lot of credibility from the site as far as scam busting is concerned. I associate porn sites with putting nasty cr*p on my computer, serious spam and a complete lack of internet ethics. The porn links have chased me away from even going to the site recently. I find them very offensive and I dont care how fashionable it is to be broadminded about porn. I dont like it and I certainly dont want to be forced to see it.

Apart from that, porn and online security are not famous for their compatibility. It's scarey to find your home town so obviously tracked, especially when scam busting is not always the safest job in town. Dont you find it a little ironic that your locality is tracked by the owner, when the rules that were the cause of multiple bannings were those on the subject of publishing personal information. It was bad enough when we thought that a rather dodgy MLMer might have access to our personal information, but a porn broker?....?

Add to the mix, the deletion of important threads with valuable information - most of which happened long before Len Clements became Administrator, you end up with a need for a more reliable and reputable site to post proof of scams. Many of us hope that realscam.com will provide the answer and become a place where victims or future victims can go for reliable and verified information. There is a great need.

I agreed with wishful also. Everyone has choices.

However, some people on this site have chosen to create a number of threads bagging the scam site.

Personally I find that repugnant, but hey, that's my choice to feel that way and it's not because I'm a fan of the site, I feel it demonstrates a level of double standards...I feel that this site is compromising it's own core values and lowering it's own credibility because it claims to exist because scam.com has failed to allow them to properly expose scams and yet we see threads created here solely for the purpose of denigrating the site for a whole range of unrelated issues including the other business activities of the owner. Activities which he has been carrying on since the scam.coms' inception. (for well over 6 years to my knowledge)

That is why I ask these people to be honest with themselves and get on with what they set out to do.

Anyway, It seems I (or my opinion) am not welcome here so I bid you all adieu.

I don't think it's necessary to continue to post on a site which promotes healthy debate on the proviso that your argument fits in with everyone elses.

Good luck with it and as I wrote in one of my earlier posts, I hope it goes well for you!

I think that you have overreacted Gazza and noone wants you to feel unwelcome here. This thread is, after all, in its proper section

Ranting, Raving and other Ridiculous Diatribes

If it was anywhere else, you might have a valid point, but here....?

Come back and post on the scam sections, where your input will be greatly valued.

If you were actually debating, one might almost agree.
    But as you have stated:

I couldn't agree more. People are attacked here, ridiculed, called dishonest, foolish and liars, told that their reasons and opinions are not worthy, not understood meaningless and just discounted off hand, and then told we are the ones overreacting. lmao That is not debate as far as I am concerned. It's being an ass. People are enttitled to believe and feel what they want to and not be attacked and ridiculed for that. Members here have damn good reasons to feel and believe as they do. Something that clearly Gazza does not get and never will. My replys were all very reasoned, logical, calm and a plea for the drama to end and yet I was told,

    "Ease up, lady!

If you don't agree with my comments, that's fine but don't go flying off the handle, ranting like a banshee." WTF?

What an inappropriate response. But then when the truth and the facts are pointed out to some people, this is the kind of idiotic response that you often get, so I am not that surprised. It seems to me that he was and is the one flying off at the handle here. lol

People don't come here and have not come here to be harrassed nor ridiculed by Scam fans and told that their objections to Scam are nothing but worthless drivel. I don't why that concept is so hard to grasp. I see no contributions by him whatsover on any of the threads and forums on this entire site having to do with any scams whatsoever, also. Why is it so important to someone that they refuse to just leave people be? Why can't they do that? You have to wonder what motivates anyone to come here and do this. I have seen this thus far in three other posters as well. It needs to end. Some would do well to examine their true reasons for being here and what their position actually is and what they are bringing to this new forum, in my opinion.

I also agree that there are been enough drama here and it needs to end and not constantly being instigated over and over. If a person is not capable of anything else, that seems very apparent rather quickly, however. Many of the members here have suffered enough b.s. and they don't need to be subjected to anymore. I mean what exactly is the point? You cannot control others and their choices. You won't change their minds and all you are doing is ticking them off. People are allowed to choose what is best for them, not be attacked for doing so and not to be able to simply accept that is rather childish.

The sooner the baggage of Scam and that includes certain members there, is behind us......the better for this site. I think that many of us want and need to move forward and none of this is helping. I know that I don't need a little bit of Scam and all of it's issues and drama dragged over here on a constant basis by Scam members and having to deal with that. Leave the baggage at the door. But, I will defend this site, myself and it's members and the Mods if needed. Most of the ugly been thankfully removed and dealt with. The rest will hopefully sort itself out eventually. I am personally committed to stand up for this site, the owner and it's members and support it at every means available to me. We have a great opportunity here. We have been given a fresh start.
