When I was a MOD there I used a keyboard macro to kill the spam. The macro was written by some of my friends in the IT department at my university. The macro basically worked like SpamAssassin: Welcome to SpamAssassin, a tool I have used as a MOD at other websites in the past.

We constantly update software and keep on top of things. We have very little spam to deal with ever. George Dranichack is an idiot plain and simple!

I've tried to reach George about issues that I thought were important.
He not only doesn't answer but he instead logs in and posts in the forum.
Compare to the response I get here. I logged in after a 4 year absence to ask SBM a question.
She answered within two hours.

George uses and abuses the free help terribly. Tom, bibleman and myself cleaned up the trash and porn off just the old hotel forum and it went from 60 pages to just 2 pages which was quite typical. Sojustask certainly did no real work ever. Private pleas for help go unanswered routinely no matter how urgent. So, Zach / Vlad / George or whatever he calls him richly deserves a public flogging!

Believe me, there was no criticism of the volunteer mods involved in what I said.

It's just how things work.

Easter, with it's associated break is a prime time for spammers and DDoS attacks and we've had both over the past few days

As SBM mentioned, we have all the latest updates, yet, I still manually delete eight to ten spammers a day, more at times like Easter

It comes with the territory

The absentee, non co operative owner problem, on the other hand has one glaringly obvious solution.

There's been a lot of spam on scam.com lately and one of the mods was complaining about it (George's alias?)

Scam is hilariously and hopelessly overrun with spam. As our readers can see that never happens here. Over 200 spam threads!!!! This is like trying to bail the Titanic with a kiddie bucket and sand toys!

That might be why "Admin" is not doing more to prevent the spammers from getting access. I can't be here all the time. I hope that clears things up. The spam seriously hurts my ads BTW, it drops my RPM CPM to pennies instead of dollars. Plus some of these bastards are doing illegal things and that is not cool. I forward things to my guy at the FBI all the time...maybe 50 a week. Then you claim a moderator's "personal problems" are to blame. If someone confided in you privately about their personal issues, you shouldn't mention them in the public forum. A little discretion. I thought Peggysue = George? Or did she become a mod with less than 500 posts on scam.com?

I was there earlier today and the spam is out of control.

Peggy Sue was George year back I believe. Now, that ID is a desperate mod working for free.

The Facebook spam flood is being relayed through his Twitter account. Report that to them and get it shut down, then watch and see whether he creates and links a new one.

My having personal problems is now out there and I'll address the issues. I posted on the forum I was having back issues and couldn't sit in one place that long. It was impossible for me to get all of the forum spam deleted. My back issue was a problem for over a month. During the time I was ill the forum spam increased. The spam issues were then discussed on the forum. It was announced the moderators for the forum did not have the time nor did they want to delete all of the spam. I was deleting spam everyday and logged into the forum at least three times a day to delete all of the spam before my back issue. It seems no volunteer wants to spend hours deleting spam. If we had a bunch of volunteers to spend time deleting spam, it's true it would be much less time consuming. Problem is we do not have any volunteers that want to delete spam. Also we have the bigger issue of why Admin will not do something to stop all of the spam? He says he has programs in place but what we have in place is not stopping the registration and posting from spambots. No one person and not even two people want to spend the time it takes to keep this forum free of spam. Especially when all feel something could be done to stop the spam without using free volunteers to do this. I, like Admin, am not going to spend hours everyday deleting spam. If the owner(Admin)who is making money off of the forum, will not delete the spam, it must be easy to understand why I a volunteer making no money, would spend a lot of time deleting spam. The spam problem has consistently gotten worse over the last few months.

Re: Something has to be done So that we can document the increase in spam posts too this forum daily I want to post Since yesterday in the early afternoon there have been 15 pages of 35 posts to a page of mostly spam bot postings. A little over a month ago there was about 15 to 35 spam bot posts in a 24 hour period. Possibly more but nothing like what is taking place today.

Excessive spam causes a site to lose its' Adsense account

Of course, we know VladiZachaGeorge had some rather seedy deals where he was apparently paid to host some Spam, Spam green eggs and ham in addition to pulling down threads about scams he agreed to advertise for. Pretty sleazy!

Extra hits on the website won't increase Adsense revenue. Only clicks on the Adsense ads will do that.
Spam can increase traffic from people seeking deals/easy money etc. These brain dead morons are the ones most likely to click on Adsense ads.

Apart from that spambots can be programmed to click on ads. Once upon a time google could tell the difference but these bots are so sophisticated they can easily fly under the google radar.

Bottom line...If you invite these little buggers they will accept and attend with relish.

Lucky is right!

Especially when you remember that the site has lost Adsense on at least 2 other occasions in the past.

Maybe spambots with pornlinks has been dropped from the Adsense TOC as a no no.

Who knows?

I obviously don't know the details, but I suspect the answer to your question lies in Googles' "normal" method of dealing with the problem.

The owner receives a notification which states:

"You have 3 working days to make changes to your site"

So, allowing for a lag time between the spam being reported or for the Google spiders to detect a recurring problem and the owner receiving the warning, then the three days elapsing and then the site having to be being re-spidered, there's a possible answer

VladiZachaGeorge has ******* out the words spam and spam bot on his Spam site! Hilarious!

Back to the banned words? That site has gone to the dogs. smh
