How the hell did she.......never mind.....congratulations on winning 1st place:

Okay, my wife gets some number in here. She once decided to drive over some train tracks in a switching yard. She was obviously lost, had gotten off the road and was driving mindlessly, got into the switching yard, crossed some train tracks (there were NO formal auto crossings there lol but she crossed several sets of tracks anyways) and ran over a switch which tore the oil pan completely off her car. She had been in downtown L.A. shopping in the garment district and got totally turned around and lost on the way home.

She then somehow, by driving all kinds of directions on side streets found a freeway, got on that and after about 5 miles, the engine light went on, (no oil) and she kept driving anyways until she saw a gas station by an exit, coasted down the exit and ran the red light at the bottom of it (a police officer saw this and followed her and thankfully there was no cross traffic) to keep up the momentum and cruised into the gas station. Oh, and when she called me she said one of the tires was making a noise. Well not only was it flattened from the track experience, but most of it had come off the rim and she was driving on the rim for sometime apparently til she got to the gas station. True story. The cop was nice enough (he must have been married himself lmao) not to give her a ticket. She also mentioned that so many people had been friendly and waving to her and pointing on the freeway but she was afraid to stop there and get directions. I am not making this up. She is the Italian version of Lucy.

In order to provide some sort of gender balance, I offer this example of why problem driving is not the exclusive domain of females:

THREE Aussie teenagers who had been skinny dipping were found naked when their car ended in a canal.

The teens - two girls from Perth and the 18-year-old male driver from Donnybrook, south of Perth, - managed to scramble out of the submerged vehicle in a canal at Port Geographe, near Busselton, about 1am yesterday before a resident called police after hearing their distressed screams.

They told police they had been heading home naked to Donnybrook when they got lost and found themselves travelling towards the canal. The driver did not stop at the dead-end and the car careered through a vacant section, down a retaining wall and into the water.

"When police got there they found three naked teenagers on the front verge of a house and later found their car about 20ft underwater in the canal nearby,'' Acting Senior Sergeant Stuart Gerreyn told PerthNow.

"It seems they had been drinking and having a bit of a party on the beach when they decided to go skinny-dipping.
"Whether they thought it was a bit of a laugh to drive home naked or what, we don't know?''


The driver, an 18-year-old man from Yabberup, will be charged by summons with driving with a blood alcohol reading in excess of 0.08.

Sen-Sgt Gerreyn said the four officers who responded to the call were "still scratching their heads about what was going on''.

"It's one of those things that happens occasionally that makes you raise your eyebrows and wonder what amuses people and what people find funny," he said.

"But the bottom line is they could have quite easily have been trapped in the car and we could have been recovering three dead bodies.''

Chic a bow bow. Man, my kinda date!!! lol I maintain that one of the girls kept saying to the guy who was driving, "just keep going, drive down there, I know the road is right there." I mean who can refuse a naked woman? Can you imagine having to tell your folks what happened to the car? Well Mom, it was like this........lol

I've been in several high speed accidents, and I know from experience it's instinctual to grab hold of something rigid as the incident begins to unfold.



Given the clothing situation and gender of the 3 people involved, the mind boggles.

I am telling you it was so funny. Not at the time though. I was just off from a long international 5 day trip and home relaxing, actually I was sound dead asleep when she called and woke me up, had to get dressed and drive clear the hell downtown (well just east of there - she was even going the wrong direction on the freeway on the way back-should have been heading west or at least south lol) and look at the car, have the auto club tow it and take her home. It wasn't cheap either. She never drove down there again. Either I take her or one of her girlfriends or her sister drives her. lmao

I swear this is true, she went down to visit some friends we have in Dana Point that we have had a long time and been to there place a zillion times, (me driving- plus we sometimes go down there and charter the Helena for fishing and we have done that a zillion times over the years) I was working, and when she left their place to come home, she wound up in San Diego. Never noticed she was driving south. I was surprised she didn't drive to Tijuana. She never noticed til she got past La Jolla. lol
