Russian Navy Hovercraft Lands On Busy Beach

Sun worshippers on a crowded beach in Russia were stunned when a giant military hovercraft appeared and ran up on to the shore.

The incident, on a beach in Kaliningrad on the Baltic Sea was caught on video and shows the massive black craft dwarfing all around it.

The Russian Navy's Baltic Fleet has reportedly confirmed it owns the vessel but said it had no idea why there were so many people on a military beach.

The hovercraft was said to be practicing beach landings.

“Docking at the beach … is a normal event,”
Sky News reported, citing local newspaper Komsomolskaya Pravda. “What people were doing at the beach on the territory of a military [base] is unclear."
