POOR old Dan, you've really gotta feel for the guy.

We don't actually know who Dan is, but it's safe to say he had a pretty miserable Valentine's Day yesterday.

See, Dan's girlfriend Laura chose that particular day to break up with him via public billboard.

What a piece of work, eh?

It gets worse. Not only did Laura pay $150 for a billboard at a local petrol station to announce her breakup, the announcement also said she was leaving Dan for some bloke called Gary.

Gary??? Who leaves a bloke with a nice sensible name like Dan for a Gary?

It's like moving out of a nice house into a dingy apartment.

The full message read: "Dan, I'm leaving you for Gary. Your clothes are at your mum's & I've changed the locks. Sorry to do this on Valentine's Day. Laura."
