Delivery finally!!! (I hope) Boeing will deliver the first of its premium 787 Dreamliner aircraft to Air India (AI) this year and to All Nippon Airlines (ANA).
Over 2500 hours offlight testing has been completed, and another 300 or so before FAA certification (and they hope to include ETOPS -Extended-Range Twin-engine Operational Performance Standards ) which Boeing believes will happen this Fall. There are currently 858 orders on hand. By the end of 2013, Boeing expects to be producting ten aircraft per month and has opened a second factory dedicated to the 787 in South Carolina. Helluva backlog to catch up on.
Boeing is also ramping up production of the B777 by 69% by 2013. 965 have been delivered thus far. The just completed the 1,000th 767! (50 more orders to go currently) Very few wide bodies ever get to that amount of orders/delivery. The 747-400 after 1,500 deliveries, is still being built. That is amazing to me.
