He didn't fall for a scam. He's been instigating scams for more than 20 years. He pastored an Atlanta-area church until he cheated on his wife. Since then, it's been one get-rich-quick scheme after another. Some are legal (if stupid investments); some are illegal pyramids or gifting schemes. He was convicted (he entered an Alford plea) in Virginia a few years ago for ripping off an old man to the tune of about $400,000. Sometimes he uses the name "Bob Moore," sometimes "Bennie Moore," and sometimes entirely fictitious names.
