Still not here to bash, I see

Gifting clubs are illegal because everyone that joins is expecting to make money getting gifts back.

Just putting a statement on a website that claims people join without expectation of getting gifts back doesn't make it true and does not hold up in court as proven by the myriad of cases that sites like this and others provide links to.
