I'm guessing a Russian penal colony doesn't have too many five star features on offer to its' patrons.

It is like camping with forced labor and not with very nutrient food, menu only has 3 items everyday: breakfast, dinner, supper
And nobody, even cooks, want to know what's in it.
Most loose teeth after a year.
Reminded me of an old anekdot:
An American flying on Aeroflot Soviet airlines, during a flight a stewardess comes to him and ask if he would like to eat.
He is very excited and hungry, and asks what are the options ?
and stewardess answers - " Options: Yes or No"
