Rick, good to see you here and thanks for sharing your thoughts with us. I don't know if you recall but in a PM exchange I warned you about disagreeing with scratchycat in her threads. It appears from your comment that your posts were deleted and that doesn't surprise me at all. The fact that some are fawning over her in the AIF group also isn't surprising but it will be a short lived success .....aside from a few who are rabid instigators in any case.
Amanda, You're so right when you say we're adults and should know how to disagree to disagree in a civilized manner. We've been friends for years and in the past we've disagreed and remain friends. I have no doubt we'll disagree again since our beliefs on certain issues are very different and I'm confident it won't affect our friendship.
You know Kathleen this recent storm with scratchycat started cos of her vile backstabbing outside the community when she didn't succeed in getting her way within the community. You were the main recipient of her attacks and she would have or could have continued happily had you not found out about it. In the process we learned that she'd been badmouthing not only you but any person that ever had an altercation with her and called her out on her lies, lack of ethics, behind the scenes backstabbing and so much more. She named us the "dirty five" and I must say she isn't very original with her name calling. Remember the movie the "Dirty Dozen"? Well they were supposed to be the bad guys but ended up being the good guys and heroes. She also attacked Adland and Bogdan who she always professed to love dearly. Well if her actions are the result of love give me good old honesty, civility, straight and honest talking any day. I do believe her "popularity" in her new home will be short lived and they too will discover the real person that lurks behind the facade she tries to portray.
The bottom line here is that while people may disagree there is no logical reason not to be able to discuss it civilly and in a polite manner without taking offense at the disagreements. Evelyn said that there are many she couldn't be friends with and that's true both on and off line.
That said I'm always willing to rationally discuss issues based on facts but I lose interest when instead of facts we get innuendos, maybes, suppositions etc. I'm open to all discussions but in many cases I prefer ignoring certain posts cos they are repeats of past discussions and all that had to be said was said and I sometimes find repeating my self a bit boring and nothing will be accomplished by it. Ignoring a post is not impolite but it should be understood as a statement and accepted as such.

Hi Rick and friends. Rick as I read about your "inspection" reminds me of what I have thought for a long time and that is, I doubt we will ever know just how much damage was done behind the scenes, but more and more is slowly leaking out.
To be honest, there are some people here who I doubt I could ever be friends with, because, I guess you could call it a personality conflict, but I can still be cordial to them and I will, if they let me, but unfortunately there are a few here who won't even let you be cordial and I witnessed that recently, but not to me, to someone else.
Tell your sweet Marilyn she is missed here and a lot of us would love to see her back, only if it was just occasionally. Tell her to at least think about it and tell her I said hello. :)

Hi Kathleen, Evelyn, Jim, Scratchycat & All,
I've participated in this thread for very obvious reasons. On a personal level I was here in regard to the Blow/Scratchycat entering my name in a supposed anti scam forum while I've not been selling online for quite a while now and the link in my sig line is a legitimate product sold internationally. Even that I'm not actively selling but there are still sales monthly due only to the link in my sig line.
That said one can only assume that the mentioning of names is a revenge strategy against those that aren't scratchycat supporters and "lovers". The interesting part is that there aren't many left now since even they've realized that the persona she tried to build up was a facade and instead of love all you've got is a pathetically vengeful individual. Until she started disparaging members outside of adland in other sites on line she was the expert backstabber via PMs, emails, posts in AIF, Skype and the other messenger services. This anti scam site tactic had its limited success until you discovered this campaign of hers. Kudos to you for that.
History always repeats itself. In her badly written rant here she's claiming the status of victim. While she's been in attack mode on that anti scam site since February badmouthing and maligning adland members and adland as a whole including admin. So I wonder who the real victim is? Those being maligned behind their backs or the person caught with her pants down. So I wonder why she thinks she's been unjustly brought to account in this thread? Being caught and the truth seem to be something she can't live with.
The one true statement she made is that in your previous tenure as POTW leader I wasn't a supporter of your format and at the time I stated my reasons. What this shows is that people can disagree and still remain friends, a concept she's unable to understand. In her book if you disagree with me you're my enemy. Stupid but past history shows it to be true hence her expertise in deleting and banning.
I don't know whether to congratulate you on your second round as the POTW leader or not and I'm not sure the one on one polls is the way to go. I've watched the slow demise of the POTW for quite a while now and it saddens me but doesn't surprise me. On a personal level and as a friend I'd rethink whether taking this on again at this time is the wise thing to do. In the end it's your decision and you know as I do how time consuming a task this can be even if the participation level is as low as it's been lately.

I didn't delete anything, I don't know if posts disappeared after she left the community last night or were deleted before that.
I think she does not read a lot of stuff, the ad she copied into the scam site clearly stated that I'd help people who joined up to a certain level, and that ad WAS obviously FOR another person, and yet I was referred to as a "culprit". I actually do put part of my commissions into paid advertising for other people who join at certain levels under me and my direct referrals.
When I first contacted her on Sept 28th, I sent a link to that scam site and she replied about something else, she had not even read the message properly, it was only a few line message, and it seemed as if she had completely forgotten she had ever posted that earlier this year.
Also I was banned from Adlanders In Facebook at the end of last year for making a comment about I think nominees should be members for more than 2-3 weeks before being on the ballot, and I was banned for that, even though she had made her comment at AIF about hoping someone wouldn't win...and then several months later, Barry put a rule into effect for the ALP elections about people needing to be members longer, that's exactly the reason I was banned by the AIF admin.
Wanting no part of "evil"? Referring to someone as a CULPRIT for doing exactly what my ad said I'd do...and she also hoped a nominee would not win while she was anonymously helping with the election last year. Those 2 issues don't sound like goodness.
**I really think the community should take a break from the POTW for a long time and think about if they really want an election, or let different people run it from week to week, or brainstorm different ideas about it. The main reason I decided to start doing it again was to offer Sara a partnership, as an olive-branch, but that's probably not a reasonable idea. I know she'd been interested in it since I was running it 2 years ago because I remember questions, and I said the advertising area should be studied by anyone interested in being a POTW partner because the prizes are advertising.
The ONLY reason I made a write-in election in 2009 was because I was still not thrilled about the tons of extra votes in January 2007, and that election could have been restarted.
I'm willing to be civilized with people if they are also, most people can agree to be civilized, even after arguments, most adults are not longterm base idiots.
I think our former member would be surprised to know that some of us were actually concerned about her emotional well-being, since this was such an outrageous situation that was way beyond her usual.
Actually, Nick G. was someone I had in mind the other day when I mentioned a mutual nonbiased friend might be given her password to the other site just to see IF that thread IS or is NOT deletable.
The reason I mentioned senior-citizenship the other day is because I pay taxes IN and she gets money OUT as a senior who I assume may be getting Social Security, and her efforts to cut a younger person's income and therefore cut the amount of taxes I'd have to pay IN would be ultimately effecting any OUTGO, and seniors don't need to start receiving LESS now, that's a really bad idea, to try to squelch the income of anyone who's actually paying in, or make earning difficult for a lot of people who work from home.

Sara, I know you and Jim Allen don't hit it off to put it mildly but he leaves me alone so I can hang out there. I was wasting my money here. The tools here are probably good but there is no help to understand them. I opened the door to learn by creating the forum on Affiliate Adlandpro. Bogdan liked it, complimented me, and gave assistance in the background. He monitored the forum but missed his chance to use it as a learning tool for new people or those who wanted to make money as an affiliate by not posting himself. I think he is too busy in politics, climbing the mountain of love and chasing UFO. ALP is cleaner now as new profiles have slowed down with the crap profiles. Maybe he has gotten the message. But from past experience it will not last. He will walk away and it will start all over again.

The FTC complaints allege that the fake news sites have titles such as “News 6 News Alerts,” “Health News Health Alerts,” or “Health 5 Beat Health News.” They often include the names and logos of major media outlets such as ABC, Fox News, CBS, CNN, USA Today, and Consumer Reports and falsely represent that the reports on the sites have been seen on these networks.
The FTC is asking the courts to permanently bar the allegedly deceptive claims, and to require the companies to provide money for refunds to consumers who purchased the supplements and other products. The FTC charges that the defendants:
•make false and unsupported claims that acai berry supplements will cause rapid and substantial weight loss;
•deceptively represent that their websites are objective news reporters, that independent tests demonstrate the effectiveness of the product, and that the comments following the “articles” on their websites reflect the views of independent consumers; and
•fail to disclose their financial relationships to the merchants selling the products.
Acai berry supplements are often marketed to consumers who hope to lose weight. In 2010, the FTC filed an action against acai berry marketer Central Coast Nutraceuticals for deceptively marketing acai berry supplements as weight-loss products, and “colon cleansers” as an aid for preventing cancer.
The defendants running the fake news sites who were charged in these cases make very similar claims that consumers can experience dramatic weight loss by taking acai berry supplements in combination with a companion product such as a so-called colon cleanser.
The FTC filed the 10 complaints and requests for temporary restraining orders in six federal courts:

Digitech Computers in Putney London SW15 have given me some very helpful advice about the use of registry cleaners and programs like CCleaner. This thread has been locked for a while but I decided to temporarily reopen it to express my thoughts on recent happenings and the changes I see in the community as a direct result IMO.
As many of you know by now Sara Gardner aka scratchycat aka the blow was banned /expelled from the community. I won't go into the reasons since I'm sure most of you are aware of them by now and I personally think it should have happened a long time ago but as the saying goes it's better late then never.
I noticed a few interesting things lately. Members who all of a sudden came out of the closet and admitted that they too had altercations and blow ups with scratchycat and a result learned her true character. Others simply described her in ways that I and a few others were claiming was the real Sara Gardner and not the facade of the caring and loving persona she tried so desperately to portray.
In any case I've noticed that since her "departure" the community's become a much friendlier place. Nothing's changed there still are political differences, and belief structures but they are discussed in a friendly manner that is conducive to lively discussions and make interesting reading.
Just my thoughts and I for one hope this friendly atmosphere is here to stay.

As some of you might have heard, there have been proposals made by several members on different occasions that we need a group of people in the community which would help with identifying potential issues between our members early enough so they can be dealt with before any serious problems occur.
Recently William Vanderbilt provided such a suggestion and I have asked him to take a lead in formulating such ideas.
He came to me with following mission statement, and we currently are looking for a group of volunteers who would be interested in sitting on such committee.
When I say volunteers I entirely mean that. There is not going to be any rewards for this position or perks.
If you decide to be part of this body, you will agree to be available when group needs you.

I must agree with you, the atmosphere is much better than it was. I'm glad to see that Admin finally saw the light.
In a way, I almost feel sorry for her as she must be a very unhappy person within herself.
We will always have difference of opinions it's what life is all about but we can do it in an adult way. Heck my husband and I have a lot of differences but we're still together...lol...and I still love him.

I see your concernes.
The committee's role is not to censor. In fact committee won't have any decision making abilities. The committee will only get involved when problems are reported (this happens now with the difference that I'm the only one who looks at the problem) and members of this committee will have chance to observe the problem and analyze the history and make recommendations to what decision should be made.
In the past several problems have been developing over the time and I was notified when they were at its pick. In most cases this was not only too late but it required from me substantial devotion of my time to determine what the problem is. As you might suspect, the problem never was what one party was attempting to communicate to me. In most cases after investigating I could get to early stages of the problem and find that both parties contributed to it quite often equally.
So the committee's role will be giving me an objective view of what is going on and give recommendations as to the course of action.
In addition more than one set of eyes will be available while problem is developing not when it already has developed.

Georgios, Those that know me in the community know I will be polite when I post but I won't mince words when I believe something has to be said. As I mentioned earlier I never said you were an e-scammer nor that you reported JoAnne's forums. Find it if you can. You know this and yet yet you mislead with outrageously misleading statements. The only people enjoying this are the attention seekers and pity mes and we all know who they are.
I will say this though about your example and your poll as well. The example was a terrible one and can be understood as a veiled threat. Your poll had 4 options and only one was favorable to you. It was worded not well and it appears that you had an agenda in advance namely the above misleading post. You reached the following conclusion from the results of the poll:

It is impossible to do a serious statistical analysis of a poll with 31 votes and at the time we chatted there were 630 views and now 721 and probably more by the time I post this. The poll ends at midnight so it might change in anycase. Especially when the poll voting options were one sided to begin with 75% negative and only 25% positive. That is less then 5% of the views and that is what you based your conclusions on? I read earlier that friends of yours stated that they didn't vote and they would have voted option 4. There are plenty others that probably felt te same. One final point on this issue. You will probably be surprised to read this but in the close group of Joanne's friends there were those that voted option 4. I know this from personal knowledge.
You see Geo, you mislead all the time in your "To Whom It May Concern". I didn't lose in the other dispute. I still firmly believe my allegations were true and so do many others. I stated then that for me it was a closed issue and here you are reopening it. As to my BTW, read it again Geo. I thought it was funny then and I still do. Do you want another BTW? In regard to the "other" dispute I know what your thoughts on that matter are too.
When the issue with deleted post started on the last night of the POTY poll 2 things happened.
1. The POTW team immediately resigned both publicly and I sent a PM to Bogdan to that affect right after the announcement in the POTY thread. So Bogdan (admin) didn't discharge us it was of our own volition.
2. I removed myself from the POTY contest.
I also sent Bogdan a PM explaining why I removed myself and that Pauline is the winner.
Everything above is documented and can be found in the POTY thread and the PM I sent Bogdan he posted when he announced Pauline was the 2008 POTY.
Gang of four? Interesting, the only gang I see now is a gang of one (with background supporters) that is trying to get his revenge with misleading statements.
I see Joanne and Peter all the time. Well I'll tell you this Geo. I gave you my recommendation in our chat just before you posted the above J'Accuse. I read your reasons why this is a problem for you in the chat and I can understand your fears. I can also understand Bogdan's concern.
I will tell you this. Just as you asked me when we made our truce/peace just last month that I ask Joanne to delete her thread my reply then was that JoAnne is a strong independent woman. She will do as she sees fit and will not be swayed by attempts to convince her to do anything against her will. The same in this case. If Joanne sees fit to delete her threads that is her choice. It is not my place nor have I the right to tell her what to do. I can tell her what my opinions are and she will in the end do as she sees fit and/or as her attorneys advise her to do.
My conclusion is different from yours. I believe that this act was planned in advance and that includes the poll (the options and wording is enough for a discerning reader to see that). I guess you want your revenge and I wonder if it might not just boomerang right back at you.
As I told you in our chat last night (our time) my belief is that you are going about this in the wrong way and it most probably could have been resolved in a different manner.

Peter, I am sorry you refuse to just let this go. We are simply not able to communicate as has been proven in past PMs.
You do what you feel is correct. He was and has been a very good friend and supporter for all of us. What you call 'friendly and peaceful manner' is not my way of thinking. I am not saying I am correct and you are wrong. We just don't speak the same language even if it is English.

Life is hard enough and people do not need to be bullied and harassed in an online community. Leaving is not always an option a person can take because they leaves them to continue just as they are doing now. I am not letting it upset me - far from it now. What I am doing is letting them rant and saving each post. How can the owner of this Adlandpro community accuse RealScam of doing what he freely allows on his own website. At least with RS, there is a goal and that is to bring attention to internet crime. What they continue to allow is personal defamation.
As Bogdan was making money off of that place he absolutely should have hired someone qualified to to care of the place and deal with any issues. Now he has unhappy advertisers and fighting members driving away his traffic which it turns out was generated to quite a degree by spammers, prostitution related posts, drug advertisers, MLMers, scammers and the like. They are certainly not the kind of clientele any legitimate reputable advertiser is looking for as they are only there to peddle their own junk such as it is.Quote:

I don't claim to be immune from making mistakes and it is of course up to you how you take my message, but below I would like to post for you a definition of the Troll from wikipedia.

This is what I have learned first hand and in my opinion whenever you are responding to trolling, you are just putting gasoline on the fire. Troll can only feed on negative energy. When you show distress, troll is happy. When you stop feeding negative energy to the troll, troll has to find another object of their aggression so they can elicit negative energy or they feel miserable. They can't stand positive energy because they feel insignificant.
Also remember that trolls contribution to the society is to continually test hot buttons of individuals they are targeting to put them off the track. They might be used and supported by hidden agents e.g. competition, your enemies or just themselves to see if they can build carrier on your mistakes or create more traffic to their trolling nest.
They need badly attention.
So in my view if you want to use your energy for the positive area, start working on your business, improve your marketing, meet your friends or have a drink and laugh in a good company.
Don't react to trolls. If you use your energy for positive areas, trolls will run away as they can't survive in such an environment. They will keep hovering over you if they smell the blood, but if you don't give them reason for that, they will go somewhere else. They can't create anything on their own, they just feed on others.

Trolls also get stomped by 3 billygoats, according to the childrens story, the troll who lived under the bridge and told the goats they'd have to pay a toll to cross, ended up getting butted by the biggest goat and drowned in the moat. Drowned after being stomped by all 3.
Trolls online are the same as the troll under the bridge, just sitting there waiting.
Obviously having no family or loved ones, if they did, they'd have an offline support system reminding them not to be ridiculous.

What I have noticed after I learned Bobby Brown's character was through Gone Country and of course after his divorce from Whitney Houston and all the bad press..I have not read anything negative on Bobby, he got himself cleaned up and seems to have been drug free.
Whereby Whitney is still getting negative media from the few mags I flip through while waiting my turn at the grocery cash-out line.. Such a great place to catch up with the celeb antics cause I don't buy the mags.. LOL...and seems to still be suffering from drug addiction and meltdowns. It would seem that Whitney was the 'bad apple' in their relationship..

No it will not affect our long term friendship, like you say we have been friends for several years and I respect you... However, there have been times lately that I could 'slap you over the head with a wet noodle', and I am sure you could do the same to me when we do not see eye to eye.

Bogdan, don't know where you came up with idea of Trolls but it makes no difference. Your members have been trying to tell you for years they exist in your Adlandpro and have hurt many members and you know who they are because you have been told over and over, yet you allow them to say those things and still be there. Your words quoted here are much the same as what we were told when we reported the harassment because you know for a fact these same people have been doing this same thing for a very long time. You never hear much from them until a member starts being attacked and here they come out of the woodwork with all their vile implications and bullying.Quote:
