Re: Is Herbalife being crushed ?
Wow! talk about falling off a cliff! Now if only more of these scummy MLM's, (at least the publicly traded ones) could have the same thing happen, maybe it would be picked by the mainstream media and the word would get out that it is not worth getting involved in these things! Oh yeah and Colleges like CSUN in California would not have scamster companies like Transamerica and Revolution Financial Management at their `industry night events' luring poor naïve college students into believing that those companies are a viable career path!
oh well one can dream.....

Same things happening with NuSkin.
I believe they were at a high of $94.98 a share last year around this time.
They're trading around $41.99 a share these days - Nu Skin shares have fallen about 68 percent this year.
Investors finally got around to asking themselves the basic question - what gives the shares of companies like NuSkin or Herbalife value? Never mind the hype the company spins - take an actual look at the numbers and see where the revenue is coming from. Actual retail customers or the distributors buying product?
That's what started the derailment of the stock value of these companies.

If the the volume of sales decreased the share's price will decrease too. That's how the markets works!!

That may be "A" reason, but, if you think it's "THE" reason, you're missing the point completely

That's the unique real reason for shares depreciation. Its logic like 1 + 1 = 2!! Obviously there are many reason that explain why sales decreased.

Your understanding of what affects stock prices is naive. BTW in a binary numbering system, 1+1=10.
It seems like in this "industry" common sense is not all that common!

They are not here to understand any realities. Just to push mlm is good and everything else is bad.

If you think falling sales is the only thing causing Herbalifes' market slump, might I suggest you take a look outside the world of get-rich-quick and pyramid schemes and take a handful of reality pills with your Cornflakes tomorrow morning

Beeing MLM or not it's always the sales & profits that drives share's value. Have you ever seen a company with positive net profits and at same time its share's price decreasing ??? Legal issue can affect future profits but its just one potencial reason that can affect the financial results of the company. The markets works always the same for mlm and for non mlm companies!

Re: Is Herbalife being crushed ?
What we have is:
Herbalifes' US sales figures are down, it's facing increasing regulatory pressure and its' stock prices have been in a steady decline
So, in your considered, expert opinion, Realname, would it be a good time to either join Herbalife as an IBO or to buy Herbalife stock or would prudence suggest it might be sensible to choose another multi level marketing company in which to invest your time and money ??

That market is saturated in US so if you want to profit wit herbalife business oportunity you need to do it in other countries like Mexico, Brazil, Venezuela, Russia, etc... There are many idiots there who still don't know herbalife neither know what mlm really is... So that's the right place to start your mlm venture and make good profits. Herbalife still has a high potencial growth in such countries!

Sounds like you actually might succeed at MLM. Not that that's anything to be proud of! Have you considered stealing old ladies' purses when they come out of the doctors' offices? You know old people like to pay in cash so their wallets should be full of money. The US still has plenty of old people too so no need to venture out to those other countries.

Do not know in details about Latin America, but HLF moved in to Russia and eastern europe like a hurricane in beginning of 90ies.
After socialists rule collapsed , "open free market" ideas opened hundreds of millions virgin victims to the US scams.
Stupid morons and pimps were wearing pins with "Want to loose weight ? - Ask me How" words, just to offer the $$$ dream and scam the unsuspected.
HLF was a first there, filling the pockets of US uplines and prolonging the scheme into the next generation, nothing to fish there for left anymore.

Last column is the first year of the MLM scams when they were forced to report their "earnings" in Russia.

Re: Is Herbalife being crushed ?
Who can forget HLF's 2014 expansion into Cambodia and Vietnam, both with negligible overweight problem, with their weight-loss solutions like herbal tea (in ASIA?!) and protein shakes?

The FTC investigation along with missed earnings projections and the fact that people are more aware of the scam is probably leading to the slowdown in Herbalife. I hope the FTC has the political will to protect the gullible people.

Asking Realname advice about MLM is like asking Al Capone about accounting advice.

IM(very)HO, it's not for nothing Herbalife, Amway and NuSkin have been concentrating their efforts outside of the USA for some time now.
I'd be interested to know how many Americans / Australians / Europeans have NOT been hit on at least once in the past few years by someone offering to show them an "opportunity"
I've long been of the belief the "market saturation" spoken of by MLM critics isn't so much to do with the product/s but more to do with how many times people are targeted by MLM recruiters.
Try it for yourself.
Introduce the word "opportunity" into a conversation and see how many people respond with "It's not Amway, is it" or "It's not MLM is it"

I agree. I believe the US market is saturated but the only thing preventing complete saturation and a possible "collapse" is the fact that a lot of people turn 18 each year, adding to the pool of (suckers) MLM candidates.
