Boresha Coffee - Weightloss from drinking coffee??

I recently heard about this new offering, Boresha Coffee, an apparent MLM network marketing scheme that promotes a "fat-burning, aspartame-free chocolate and this is something really special", according to what I am told.

Their website order page offers this:

    Boreshas BSkinny Pack

Boresha's BSkinny Pack! Enjoy a full's month's supply of BSkinny™ Coffee with BCreamy™ all natural, zero fat creamer and BSweet™ low glycemic, non-cephalic, Sweet-Infused Fruits™ Sweetener. Enjoy 2 12 oz. cups per day for maximum fat-burning results. Experience the full advantage of the BSkinny system!
    Your Price: $190.00

Wow, a mere $190.00. I think I will order a dozen or so. In case anyone wants to check out their website, it's: Boresha International » Home . The guy running the company used to be in the Automotive business.

I doubt I will be joining this one.

Re: Boresha Coffee - Weightloss from drinking coffee??

They're actually promoting a "fat-burning, COFFEE" not chocolate.

    Their webpage claims:
Bskinny Coffee aka Skinny Coffee has the first and only low glycemic coffee
    patent ever awarded.
I'll bet that's something you didn't know before.

Black coffee has a high GI.

Here's something else I bet you didn't know:

    Boresha says:
Skinny Coffee is so powerful that you get maximum fat burning results from only 2 12oz cups a day. Studies have shown that if you drank 2 12 oz cups of Bskinny coffee, you would burn up to 800% more fat while you sit down reading the morning paper than if you went out and jogged 2 miles!
Patented Thermogenic Fat Burning Coffee is an invention of "Dr Ann de Wees Allen" who is an interesting character, to say the least.

If you have a few moments to spare and are in need of a good laugh, take a quick peek at her webpage here: Dr. Ann de Wees Allen

Lots of information about how she's descended from King John I of England, not so much about where she obtained her "doctorate"

There was a thread dedicated to Boresha on the other forum a while back.

"Dr Allen" looks awful good considering she must be closing in on 60. I wonder if she knows Dr Seligman?

Weren't these 'patent' claims debunked before? And it is illegal, I believe, to claim something is 'patented' if it is not....hence the term 'patent pending' comes in to play while the patent paperwork claims are being investigated by the PTO.

    Not quite.

The discrepancy comes from people being deliberately mislead as to what obtaining a patent actually means.

The Patent office will issue a patent granting the inventor sole rights to the product patented.

They do NOT make judgement on the merits or otherwise of the product which has been submitted.

To make it a little clearer, have a look at this page of products which have been granted patents in the USA: CrazyPatents.com and in the UK: Null Hypothesis | Top Ten Crazy Patents

I thought they read over the material to make sure they claims matched the drawings ion explaining the patent. However, it still doesn't take away from claiming something is 'patented' when it clearly is not.

You've exposed an important point for anyone hoping to avoid internet fraud, Whip.

It is a common misconception that having a "patent" indicates some sort of authenticity, when, in fact, obtaining a "patent" is a relatively cheap and easy process.

It is true that someone with a genuine product or invention would be well advised to make sure to explore every avenue to protect their invention.

For example, in the USA it would cost in the region of $5000 to $6000 to file for patent protection for a simple, straightforward invention i.e. a new type of coathanger or mousetrap.

Costs can increase dramatically with any added complexity, the need for drawings and technical description and services of a competent patent attorney.
Of course, a similar figure could be added for each additional country/jurisdiction involved.
So it can be an expensive and drawn out affair to obtain ironclad patent protection.
AND, there are ongoing annual fees and costs.
Most estimates of the cost of obtaining a US patent run to about $10,000 with approximately another $20,000 per country for international patents

    HOWEVER,

if the object of the exercise is NOT to protect the integrity of a product or invention, the object is to simply fool people into thinking a product or service has actual value, it is possible to file a self-help patent application creation system that could be used by inventors to create their own patent applications for as little as <$200.
The kit would enable someone to file a
    "provisional" patent application.

That's why you can find patented inventions such as the:

    Pet display clothing

    Patent No. 5,901,666

    Issued: May 11, 1999
    Inventor: Brice Belisle

There are SQUILLIONS of such patented inventions around.
It does not mean, however, the patent holder has spent thousands to apply for a patent OR that the Patent Office has assessed the value of the product. Or even if it in fact actually works.

TEETH, GUM AND OTHER ORGANS OF THE MOUTH EXERCISING DEVICE

    Patent No. 1,466,559
    Issued: August 28, 1923
Inventor: Charles G. Purdy, Brooklyn, NY

Dr deWees Allens' mission, should she decide to accept it, is to provide the "patents" in question to allow their scrutiny by recognized scientists.

Merely holding a "patent" means nothing in the context of proving the legitimacy or otherwise of the product concerned.

DEVICE EMPLOYED FOR EXTERMINATING RATS, MICE, AND OTHER ANIMALS

    Patent No. 883,611
    Issued: March 31, 1908

The fat burning chocolate is a product that is coming soon. The company does have other new products such as fat burning lattes and the CodeBreaker. Much like the ARGMatrix, the CodeBreaker is used to burn fat, build muscle, and increase circulation throughout the cardiovascular system. Many energy drinks are unhealthy and potentially dangerous. Boresha's products are suitable replacements that are all-natural and can restore youthfulness using the amino acid L-Arginine which is a precursor for nitric oxide. Boresha's ARGMatrix has been and is currently used by sports franchises and professional athletes. Re: Boresha Coffee - Weightloss from drinking coffee??

Forget about the fact coffee is touted as being the second largest traded legal commodity on the planet.

    Forget about the "comp plan"

Forget about the B/S claims of the thermogenic effects.

Bottom line is, Boresha reps are being asked to sell what is, after all, only instant coffee, which is:

    1) packaged in the most inefficient manner possible, double serve straws:

    2) at an incredibly inflated price:

    3) with a minimum quantity of 30 days worth

    4) or autoshipped

If anyone thinks there is a living wage AND a residual income to be made selling high priced instant coffee, good luck to them.
