I had some friends that rode my ass about smoking cigarettes and they pretty much smoked just as much pot. I did counter their argument with that and they just tried to justify their actions by saying it's not the same. I said 'smoke is smoke no matter how you cut it' but they would just get madder and try to deflect.
Re: Hemp is not Weed - A New MLM Kannaway
Yep, most active tobacco haters are potheads.
One argument I heard in their defense: "Tobacco are evil corporations , man. Weed is nature" :)
When you try to explain them that Tobacco is as much as nature as weed and the difference is in developed distributions or try to point out to them who the hell distributes their weed and if they less evil than corporations. They start mumbling about something tobacco is main cause of the cancer (no medical trials to back it up)
and weed cures (or does not cause) cancer (also no medical claims). Then you point to them that anti-tobacco campaigns are sponsored by other set of evil corporations
who sell overpriced nicotine gums and patches which do absolutely nothing but a placebo, vitamin and supplements companies which also no less evil for selling lies.
And that organic milk (as other products) are myth to sell overpriced products which been tested as having no difference from mainstream products,
and that just a name "reduced fat organic milk" contradicts itself :)
You may get a fist to your face from such peaceful hippy potheads.
One honest answer i got from ex-smoker pothead: "After i stopped smoking, Weed started kicking in better"

"Weed is nature"

"Yeah, so what I'm going to do is wrap some natural weed in man made paper, set fire to it, stick it in my mouth and inhale the "natural" smoke
Completely "natural"
Re: Hemp is not Weed - A New MLM Kannaway
So, I guess naturally, we are skeptical of this?
Re: Hemp is not Weed - A New MLM Kannaway
There are no limits how deep they can go into nature,
some roll it into paper made of hemp, some re-use glass pipes.
some traitors will roll weed into cigar tobacco leave :)
Re: Hemp is not Weed - A New MLM Kannaway
I don't claim to have sorted this out yet but what a can of worms.
OK, starting with a post over at MMG Burke tells us:
So I started looking into Mike Llamas and holy crap does he have a past. I am confident that the Mike Llamas of Kennaway is the same Mike Llamas facing charges of mortgage fraud and involvement with a ponzi scheme. Here is the docket summary from that case, the FBI Press Release about the original arrest from which I quote:
Quote:
According to the indictment, Loomis used Michael Llamas, 27, of Tracy, and Peter Woodard, 54, Ventura, to approach builders of new homes and developers of condominiums to purchase investment homes in bulk at substantial price discounts ranging from 30 to 50 percent off under the terms of an “option contract.” Llamas and Woodard had no financial ability and no intention of purchasing the homes; rather, the homes were to be sold to Loomis’s nominee members at full price. Loomis then arranged for his mortgage company, Nationwide Lending Group (NLG), to sell mortgage loans for the nominees with banks and other lenders at the full price of the homes without disclosing the large price discount. Lenders were thereby misled into advancing loans that far exceeded their lending guidelines. Also, the large option contract price discount was used to conceal the lack of required down payments by nominee buyers. Loomis, Llamas, and Woodard split what remained of the price discount after subtraction of the fake down payments and certain fees.
Here's a blogpost with information and links to a few documents and yesterday Forbes magazine published an article which lightly touched on this and if anything, makes this rabbit hole a bit deeper.
Quote:
The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority warned investors back in August about marijuana stock scams, saying “the con artists behind marijuana stock scams may try to entice investors with optimistic and potentially false and misleading information that in turn creates unwarranted demand for shares of small, thinly traded companies that often have little or no history of financial success.” It’s not hard to figure out that some of the people behind the penny pot stock boom have questionable backgrounds.
<Snip>
an anonymous poster on Seeking Alpha exposed that Michael Llamas, the former president of publicly-traded Medical Marijuana, had been indicted by federal prosecutors in California for his alleged involvement in a mortgage fraud that caused $10 million in losses. Llamas has pleaded not guilty to the federal charges and
Medical Marijuana separately disclosed last year that it was being investigated by the SEC.
<Snip>
How did Mackey get the rest of his shares in CannaVest? In November of 2012, two of Mackay’s companies started acquiring shares of a publicly-traded OTCBB company called Foreclosure Solutions, mostly from H.J. Cole. The man behind the deal was
Stuart Titus, who loaned the Mackay companies the money and whose General Hemp also participated, taking a 7.1% stake. Foreclosure Solutions became CannaVest and last week for some reason CannaVest moved to distance itself from Titus, saying in a press release that Titus no longer has any affiliation with CannaVest and owns less than 2% of the company.
There is another connection between CannaVest and Llamas. On the last day of 2012, CannaVest agreed to buy assets from something called PhytoSphere, including a license to use its brands, for $35 million in five payments of either cash or stock. When the deal closed last year, CannaVest issued 900,000 shares to PhytoSphere, which distributed the shares to its sole owners, Medical Marijuana and Hemp Deposit and Distribution Corporation, according to an SEC filing. Llamas used to be president of Medical Marijauna and its financial statements have previously describes Llamas as the president of Hemp Deposit and Distribution Corporation. Llamas’ LinkedIn page says he is the founder of Hemp Deposit’s CannaBank business. “To draw an inference that Mike Llamas has something to do with CannaVest is absolutely wrong,” says Mackay. “Llamas is not a member of the board and has absolutely no influence. I know Michael Llamas and am familiar with him but he has no control on any aspect of CannaVest. He may be a shareholder of CannaVest.”
Bolding mine.
There are some very bent people behind this company.

But despite the names of the companies involved, this isn’t some deal that’s furthering the sales of marijuana — legal or otherwise. Instead, PhytoSPHERE uses a system known as TerraSphere to create plant-based biocompounds for pharmaceutical and the so-called nutraceutical markets.
Michael Llamas, president of Medical Marijuana, a company that trades on the Pink Sheets and on the Over-The-Counter bulletin board, said PhytoSPHERE extracts hemp – a completely legal process, as it’s derived from hemp seeds and is categorized as food. One of the commodities emerging from the hemp industry is cannabidiol, an extract that comes in the form of crystal, oil or powder, where a “majority of the medical benefits” can be found, Llamas said.
He claims that it helps with treating digestion problems, acting as a super antioxidant, among other things.
“[It’s] completely organic,” Llamas said, “It’s been known to be beneficial in treating things from Alzheimer’s to pain management to multiple sclerosis [and] Crohn’s disease.”
In fact, while hemp and marijuana are from the same species of plant and appear to be similar, they are quite different, according to the North American Industrial Hemp Council Inc., an industry association representing the U.S. hemp industry. Hemp contains no THC, the active ingredient found in marijuana, making it unusable as a drug, unlike marijuana, the NAIHC said.
Medical Marijuana, also based in San Diego and involved with extraction and delivery methods of hemp-based compounds for use in pharmaceutical products, isn’t involved in “selling pot at all,” Llamas said.
But the similar-sounding name and familiar-looking plant have cast a stigma on the hemp industry, according to Llamas.

Many research/study have linked tobacco usage and multiple forms of cancer and cannabis smoke does produce less harmful chemicals compared to tobacco smoke(though they also contains carcinogens) , those potheads may have some good points.
The most annoying argument, debateconversation I ever had with them was about the woefully misguided "hemp can save the world" movement. How they would claim that due to its versatility( fibre,foodsource,paper,oil,drugs,bio-ethanol, phytoremediation etc), switching to hemp as main crop can solve many of the world problems. The truth is, switching to hemp would be extremely environmentally damaging(which is why no environmental scientist/activist ever advocate such notion) never mind that there are many better alternatives that outclasses hemp in every one of its utility .When I pointed that they were using false facts/data to support their claim the conversation turns vicious.....who knew supposedly laidback potheads could have such mean streak.

...
linked as in "may" or "might" , read those studies yourself.
As on canabis smoking , think of a range of studies being done, did they put thousands people together to smoke some joints and studied ?
did they study lifetime potheads smoking equal of a pack a day of marihuana ?
No points at all, you just paying attention to one side of propaganda.
prolonged inhaling of any smoke (each contains same amounts of carbon dioxide and tar), regardless of the content, or for example living in a city and inhaling car exhaust fumes, causes equal effect on lungs (still dirty lungs do not necessary attribute to cancers), Within people who developed a lung cancer there are no a straight coercing to either smokers or to non-smokers, both groups developed it regardless. recent data shows huge reduction in smokers in US, but lung cancers still on the rise (which can even be interpreted as opposite - non smokers develop it more often)

Think this is some kind of way to zap away all your medical problems. Something like that snake oil we have been discussing. Maybe it can also be used for oil pulling, if you have not heard of that one, look it up.

Are the olympics going to include a bank robbing competition now to?
Re: Hemp is not Weed - A New MLM Kannaway
Hempseed Oil is not a drug, has no THC in it, you can freely buy it just the same as olive oil or sunflower oil.
What they trying to do with it is "snake oil" with pyramid oil spread on top :)

I had never heard of CBD, THC I may have had some prior knowledge of.:RpS_wink: It seems CBD has been bred down in a lot of strains of Marijuana in favor of more THC for people to get a better high. On the medical side a higher concentration of CBD would be the goal with less THC. Or something like that, I have enough problem getting tomatoes to grow.
I found this site which has some interesting links to various conditions. PROJECT CBD | What is CBD?
Personally it doesn't matter to me whether people smoke pot for pleasure or slather themselves with hemp oil for well being. But to see things like this hijacked by MLM just makes it harder and harder for people to discern credible information from the medical nonsense typically purveyed with $50 bottles of juice. For instance there is some interesting reading on treating seizures with CBD, and given the side effects of many traditional drugs like Dilantin why not? BUT that decision needs to be made with information from a team of qualified professionals, not some yokel who wants to build his downline.

I'll bet all those free prelaunch members that Billy Funk and Ray Dietrech were touting all over the place have vanished. And the ones that were suckered into thinking they were going to get rich, will be dropping like flies soon enough.
