Sorry, he ran a £4 million business which only generated 1% profit; and he had to spend £500k on advertising just to get a profit of £40k?

Wasn't he, erm, bankrupt with those sort of figures, or am I missing something? Doesn't sound very viable to me but hey, what do I know? I've passed up that great opportunity of MAPs after all!

(If he's an American citizen, how is he participating anyway? I'm sure someone said he was actually a Canadian but living in the USA and that's how he is still in MAPs....but if he's living in the USA surely he cannot be in MAPs regardless of his citizenship? I'm confused. )

The TalkGold thread was started August 2007 and went titz-up not long after.
Who woulda guessed that the last post in that thread states:

Speaking of Mrs VIP/VLane Traffic, here they are in glorious color. The infamous "V" is on the far left in the red top and her sister is in the red top with the white jacket that handled support. Dr. Mara is on the right in the white slacks. The picture in the trailer park really instilled confidence they were financial geniuses. Makes you want to rush and send them all your money doesn't it.

Before you laugh, sadly too many people did and they lost it all. Last heard Dr Mara had fled to Germany where it is believed she still lives, but then again she could have snuck back into the U.S. and is keeping a low profile.

Perhaps we should go and rate them on trip advisor etc and report them to customers for running scams and being an untrustworthy and uncaring establishment? That might get their attention. Have they been sent the newspaper articles?

Update.... I have just checked, they do read their own reviews and comment themselves on Trip Advisor. I need to go to work but will write a detailed review later.

My opinion, I would refrain from writing a bad "review" about the Foxfields if you haven't even visited the place. Bad reviews can seriously hurt a small business like this. Owners of small Country Hotels have Hard times and you cant blame them to rent their rooms out to what they might not even know is a dodgy business -they try to survive, if you know what I mean. All we can do is bring to their attention what we know and let them draw their own conclusion, but no need to destroy a reputation for hospitality they might enjoy otherwise.

not only that but think about this, how can they get EVERYONE in the first google search result as they allude? They can't. It is an impossibility. Especially if they have multiple people they are doing work for that are of the same genre.

I'm a SEO myself and there is a saying in our field: Never trust a SEO that promises #1 on Google
That are usally the companies we warn people about!

You misunderstand the type of review I was going to write. It is a balance of also saving all those people that will be swindled out of money next week. There are ways to write things - you lose credibility if it is nasty and spiteful. I will think on it more but there would be nothing dishonest in it.
