Poker Training Network (PTN). No kidding!

In prelaunch so better get in on it before it sweeps the entire world! This mess is hawked by none other than Montel (I'll sell anything) Williams. He must be pretty desperate for cash to endorse this in addition to the Healthmaster blender and Money Mutual, an online payday advance lender.

Exactly what is the product? Poker Training Network | Online Poker Training Products
Residual income? You bet (just don't wager on it)!

I truly love it when the company has thier office out of a maildrop. And yes, PTN does, by golly. They list their address as 2807 Allen Street, Suite 745, Dallas, TX 75204. Now I know this is hard to believe, but that is the Eagle Postal Center. So if you visit, I hope you can sqeeze in that little 4" by 5" door to their "suite."

I can't say for sure that this is a scam, but after seeing what's below and listening to the presentations, I'm sort of leaning that way. I know, I'm another dream stealer.

Hot Dog!!! Corporate is just down the street from me and I have been faithfully exercising, so I might just be able to squeeze something into their suite!

Re: Poker Training Network (PTN). No kidding!

Oh brother! I saw a thread about this On the Two Plus Two Poker Forum way the hell back in July of last year.

I just went and looked for it and here are some of the comments from serious poker players (these guys play big tournies and several of them play for a living):

    "Montel is getting desperate."

"You are aware that Montel Williams is in bad shape financially. He lost a lot in divorce and health issues. I know he has done informercials. No one is saying he is broke but at his peak he had made a fortune off of his syndicated talk show. It seems to me now he is grabbing at straws and taking anything offered to him to make a few bucks."

"I always felt it was pretty despicable to have a business relationship with that piece of **** Sylvia Brown."

"The fact is that many wealthy people think there is an easy way to double their money and start making bad business investments in real estate and start up companies. To most people when you have $100 million you and your family are set for next dozen generations. But the sad truth is they think they should have more. Their lifestyles become ridiculous and unsustainable. How did Nicholas Cage go broke. He was one and still is one of the highest paid actors in Hollywood. Buying up multiple estates and filling them with crap that cost seven figures. There is always some idiot that will buy knight's armour from the middle ages for hundreds of thousands. Then start getting married a few times and have some kids. Then have some kids with girlfriends. Then your doing an infomercial late at night selling the next vegomatic. I'm sure you believe in the product right up to the moment their cutting your check."

"Someone is laughing all the way to the bank selling stupid people sh*t they don't need, imho. Second wife = stripper. Third wife = flight attendant."

"Extraordinary business opportunity" + video on the first page = MLM scam."

"Hosting a tournament at the Gold Nugget just screams of a dead broke celebrity cashing in on his name."

"Wow, this site is such BS."

"This montel poker website sounds really good for poker. Imagine all the clueless people that buy it and think they can now dominate the games after watching a video that briefly talks about positional advantages and bet sizing. "herp, this is a great business venture I can't possibly lose. lol"

"It's a pyramid scam. I went to a meeting in my area."

"It's all about getting people to sign up for the PTN program. You sign up, pay $X a month, the guy who referred you gets X% of your revenue. The guy who referred the guy who referred you gets Y% of your revenue and so and so on."

    Explains much:

This is from another pro poker site:

"I'm actually very familiar with PTN. They have been around two years or so and have little to do with online poker and more to do with a business pyramid. I would not recommend anyone become associated with that site."

"I used to play $500 sit n go's with Montel and Slash (and a bunch of randoms) at Hollywood Park last year. They would call me when he came to town and I did everything I could to get down there. Both Montel and Slash are TERRIBLE and would always bet an extra $100 last longer. If I didn't win the sit n go, at least I got $200 back. Also, Montel is totally different in person. He talks like hes from the hood. He swears a lot. He has dozens of tats too. Totally different than his on-air persona."

Monel has whored himself out in more infomercials and b.s. "opportunities" than I can even keep track of.

I'm a PTN associate. Motel is not an endorsement, he's a part owner of the company. He loves poker - he's played in WSOP, loves direct sales and philanthropy, so what's better fit than PTN?

Have you actually used the product? Why don't you see for it yourself before judging or taking hearsay?

We actually have a headquarter office in Dallas, as well as development office in Florida.

We have a product with real value, and we make commission for the sale. What part of it is a scam?

Oh boy, this is going to be good...
    Headquarters in Dallas?
Is that the post office box?
    Do elves run the company?
I mean, you'd have to be pretty freaking small to have a P.O. box for a "Headquarter" office, wouldn't you?

A few more websites attached to those phone numbers, scratchycat.

    www.whitelabelpokersolutions.com (what's "Online Charity Poker?")
    VIPPokerTraining.com

Some of the stuff from their mailing list reminds me a bit of 1970s hustler movies.
