This scam is being run by Seth Fraser, a well known ponzi scammer!

Just based on a few stray facebook postings I'm rather of the impression that Bret "MLM Ambassador " Matheny is a member of Pro Travel Plus. My problem with that? Bret is a ANMP board member so not only does he have no excuse for not recognizing a pyramid scheme when he see's one but he's on the board of an association that in part, purports to promote higher ethical standards in the industry. I should know better than to be surprised by something like this, not like I have any excuse for being so, but I'm starting to think Mr. Matheny deserves a fair and complete documentation of his activities with this and subsequent opportunities.

I wonder who Johnathan White: ID 431548 could be.

How is it possible to improve on what is? Bit like asking, how do we improve selling illegal drugs, create a better way to murder, the most honest way to lie, and so on.

It is impossible to reform MLM or it wouldn't be MLM - it would be something else. Now people have an answer as to why Matheny is a member of PTP.

It would be a little hard for me to exaggerate how much I don't disagree with you Char but there is a distinction to be made. There is such a thing as a legal MLM company. I still wouldn't join one, recommend anyone else does or as a point of principle, buy a product from one but they can operate legally in the US. The problem with not acknowledging that is it almost guaranties that the people who need help the most (low level affiliates) wont listen to anything we say until after the clue by four smacks them in the head enough times.

I spend an amount of time trying to build bridges with some of the people in the industry. I never expect much (and my expectations are seldom exceeded) but a dialog is better than reciprocal recriminations. It's interesting, after you cultivate a level of trust and they know you know what off the record means they sometimes do share some warts and all perspectives about the industry. I wish I were clever, energetic or hell, even present enough to build on that. Enough of the long timers are well aware that the "three monkeys" approach to self regulation is ultimately self destructive and independently have reasonable ideas for much needed fixes but income security is almost non existent in MLM and rocking the boat can flatten the bottom line.

One of the worst things in MLM today is that the honest ones have more to worry about from the dishonest ones than the other way around and that is entirely their own (collective) fault. I'm not pretending to have any ability to change that but I am willing to find common cause with the people inside the industry who can be realistic about the problems.

I think the website I pulled that from was using outdated DNS info because more current sources agree that ProTravelPlus dot Info uses anonymous registration. OK, so Ben "Sitforp" Glinsky owns what I'm sure would be claimed to be nothing more than a pro Travel Plus affiliate site. Or:

Mr. Glinsky's page is hosted on the same server with the official website (and sitforp dot com) which makes it sound like Pro Travel Plus is using Ben Glinsky's server. Hmm, wonder if the business relationship goes deeper than just web hosting. But how could it, ANMP member Bret "MLM Ambassador" Matheny is a consultant for Pro Travel Plus, surely a member of an association devoted to elevating the standards of the network marketing industry wouldn't be in bed (and cashing pay checks from) a man like Glinsky. Nah, couldn't be. Just couldn't.

Well, leaving most of it's paid affiliates but not the world at large poorer, Seth Fraser's Pro Travel Plus is no more. (it isn't official yet but come on)

There just flat out is not enough profit margin in booking travel vs. the Travelocity's and Expedia's of the world to pay multi level commissions upon UNLESS almost all the money being paid out across all those levels come from the affiliates in the first place. Pro Travel Plus is far from the first and it wont be the last (HopRocket) to fall fate to these facts.

So divorced in fact was Pro Travel Plus (PtP) from selling travel that affiliates purchasing travel was the tipping point in this scheme's demise. The first week in October was the first (and last) massive PtP affiliate travel excursion and self slathering lovefest, a trip to Cabo San Lucas. Had they pulled it off it would have been a publicity coup which could be turned into a recruiting orgy. One small problem, they either did or did not use their own booking engine to line up hotel reservations for their members. I said "did or did not" because I'm honestly not sure which it was but neither answer helps them because PtP got totally scammed on the deal. Affiliates paid in June for reservations in October and Seth Fraser didn't find out till some time in September that they didn't have reservations in the prestigious hotel (or anywhere else) that he'd told everyone about. If they used their own back office booking engine and got ripped off, well what does that say about their back office booking engine? If they didn't use their own back office booking engine and got ripped off, well what does that say about their back office booking engine? Safest thing for Seth to say was nothing, as long as no one else spoke up (follow up to that link).

It wound up looking like PtP ended paying out of pocket for lesser accommodations for some but not all of their affiliates but since the time between booking and non delivery of the expected reservations fell outside of some debit card charge back thresholds, some affiliates didn't get their hotel rooms and also didn't get refunds. That was the second week in October and Co Founder Charles Vest was not the only person to bail on the company at that point but at least Charles did it publicly.

Seth Fraser must have taken this hard, not only did PtP lose a TON of money on the Cabo trip but his bestest bud since they both jumped off on the sinking Kannaway ship together Charles Vest took a big chunk of his downline to PtP clone HopRocket, well what is a Legendary MLM Leader™ like Seth Fraser to do? He fricken disappears, that's what. I'm in the official corporate PtP facebook group and if I made one post tomorrow it'd be one more post than Seth has made since soon after the Cabo debacle.

The calls have been going on, trainings and the like all led by lesser lights in the industry. Perhaps they're up and commers, I don't really know about them (Joel Santiago, Joseph D.W. Otis). I do know there's an old hand behind the scenes (Ben Glinsky) and someone has their name on the merchant account the credit cards are being processed through. Pro Travel Plus had but one single innovation over Seth Fraser's previous short lived, recruitment dependent MLM schemes, it incentivized paying a full year in advance over month to month memberships which should have acted a little bit like a shock absorber against the bumps in the recruiting road but there is one drawback in that tactic. What if you paid for a full year and the bottom fell out (as it has) while you were still within the dispute resolution charge back period of the credit card you used to pay for your membership?

Well Joel Santiago and Joseph D.W.Otis are building up the sales pitch for a complete relaunch under an as of yet unannounced company name with a new pay plan and in fact totally new payments. If you had a downline in PtP and can swing them over to as of yet unnamed company, you can keep them. What is less clear is if you paid a year in advance two months ago in PtP if you'll need to pay again, I'm just kidding, of course you will. After all it's a whole new company and will almost certainly use separate merchant processing. But it will string people along with high hopes and no solid answers at least until after that charge back window closes.

In short, just another normal day in the seedy underbelly of an industry that refuses to police it's self.

PTP had no issues with finances or profit margins. Ptp issue was that the travel provider Lee Friedman lfriedman@resortsmi.com is a crook. He tricked Seth into signing a bogus contract that sayshe he's guaranteed 7500 per month even if no one uses the product. Lee's product was complete garbage and had little value. Lee is now telling people that he is the owner of ptp but he is just a scam artist. Rather than continue to allow Lee to get rich doing nothing PTP stopped paying for the worthless product and put up a replacement. PTP has no affiliation with any other travel or mlm company.

Glinsky?!? Well, well, this does seem to be the month for old names to suddenly re-appear doesn't it.

Thanks for stopping by Ben. One question, when did you first realize your travel business didn't sell travel? Seems like the sort of problem a company outside the MLM industry would have recognized and solved before they called themselves a travel company. Just sayin.

A little more info on Lee Friedman and his seeming attempt to take over the "Pro Travel" brand, here's a video from yet a third travel MLM showing an email Friedman sent out the other day. Ham handed is one way of putting it. Too bad for Lee that the two remaining PtP leaders he mentioned in his email were launching their own "travel mlm" that very day, talk about timing.

Man this is ugly. Ben Glinsky bankrolled Pro Travel Plus, Bret "MLM Ambassador" Matheny shared his wisdom with them and Seth "The Legal Thief" Fraser fronts the deal until he demonstrates his leadership skills by disappearing. At least Charles Vest told us where he went. Now Lee Friedman is relaunching one way, Joel Santiago and Joseph Otis are relaunching in another. And all of it, PtP, PtV and the new "Volishon" are nothing but affiliate funded recruiting orgies with no real money being made from selling travel. It's a good thing these little scams tend to burn themselves out quick (only to relaunch) because if they die on their own they only waste affiliates money, if they grew large enough to attract official attention it would be our tax dollars spent to close these pyramid schemes down.
