Income At Home, Herbalife, and the $8 billion pyramid

    Verge Article:
Income At Home, Herbalife, and the $8 billion pyramid | The Verge

"UPDATE: Hours after this story was published, Income At Home scrubbed Herbalife from its website. The footer on the biz op site changed magically from "an online method of operating an Herbalife International distributorship" to "an online method of operating a Vemma independent distributorship."

Awesome catch! Excellent point: it doesn't matter what MLM it is. Same garbage different name!

Seems to me there is an online method to operate all these MLMs, it is called EBAY. It is a revolutionary place where garaged qualified distributors can liquidate their inventory at a huge loss.

To give credit where credit is due...it was the authors of the article who made that catch.

Re: Income At Home, Herbalife, and the $8 billion pyramid

Businessweek has a new piece on Herbalife...

Where different people certainly have different perspectives on what constitutes legal.

In one section it claims that Herbalife don't CARE about what the distributor does with the inventory once it's sold. It asked "Does Heinz require Costco to track all the ketchup sold?"

In a different section it stated that Herbalife makes all the distributors sign the "10 retail sales" agreement, which is a part of the Amway Safeguard Rules, that distributors are supposed to keep receipts.

The new survey results on how many distributors vs. customers should have been out already. The fact that it's not, and new bluster from the company, may indicate further trouble for the company as it simply cannot prove it is a legal MLM and not a pyramid scheme.
