In January of 1997 I left Alaska on the wings of a failed marriage. I left two beautiful sons behind (something that I have always regretted) and came back to California with a terrible ongoing battle with cocaine and alcohol, and was tipping the scales at close to three hundred pounds!
My youngest son Tyler had been in a head on collision and was having horrible seizures as a result of the accident. He later succumbed to those injuries and we buried him in Anchorage in October of 1997.
Up until yesterday May 5th, 2015 I had NOT seen or heard from my other remaining son from that first marriage since the funeral service in 1997. He is now twenty one years old and I left Alaska when Kyle was four!
This is where Facebook comes into the picture. Several years ago while we were living in Ohio I asked a teenager if she could locate my son Kyle. She did and I called his mother to confirm it was me but we never connected. Just was not the right time I am guessing.
Five years later I spoke to my ex brother in law and asked him if he knew Kyle’s Facebook address and he gave it to me. I requested him as a Friend and he accepted. I was glowing like a Roman candle on the 4th of July. I thought some day I will get to talk to my first born son again and let him know how much I love him and always have! NOT ONE day ever went by where Kyle was not in my thoughts…
Yesterday, I got the message I had always hoped and prayed for. Kyle wished me a belated birthday and said, “give me a call sometime dad” along with his number! I grabbed the phone after wiping away years of tears and made the call…Answering Machine…
Ten minutes later the Called ID on the television showed up and I answered the phone…It was my son Kyle! It was almost impossible talking to him as I was fighting the emotions of connecting after so many years! You could imagine we had some catching up to do!
ALL I CAN SAY IS THANK YOU FACEBOOK FOR THE BEST BIRTHDAY EVER!

So, was Mr. Wonderful not aware of where his kids were because he wasn't paying child support? His ex-wife was apparently determined to keep him away from the kids for their safety as he was a raging coke addict? His son is obviously a complete mess. Braddles should get a real job and get off the internet!

I know it's been done before but I'm feeling like an encore is in order here.
