Lia Sophia Jewelry Business Opportunity Shutting Down

It has been announced today that Lia Sophia will be shutting down. It is not clear as to the reason. The company website is still active at this time.

“We are extremely grateful to our customers and employees for their loyalty and support throughout these 28 wonderful years, but it is with a heavy heart that we must announce that the #LiaSophia era has come to a close.” – Source Lia Sophia Facebook

The comments under the closing notice on the FaceBook page Ethan linked remind me of the HYIP threads on the Ponzi forums. The MLM recruiting vultures are pouncing on the fresh meat while some faithful supporters are indignantly chastising them for doing so (and probably wishing they had pounced first).

How about the remark about the Koolaid? If that wasn't absolutely hilarious!

The reason is, not enough women left who can be recruited, moneyflow is broken. Tops have to launch a new pyramid.

That's one thing often missed when people talk about "market saturation" being a major problem for the MLM industry in general.

It doesn't just mean the market is saturated by product, rather, it means that the pool of potential new recruits is saturated with people who have been approached so many times to join "something" they react automatically with "no" or "not interested" before the recruiter has even mentioned the name of his company.

It's not the 1960s or 70s, when there were a handful of companies, most of which were more direct sales than MLM.

It's not hard to imagine "EVERYONE" in the USA, Australia, Europe etc has been approached to join "something" on more than one occasion in the past few years.

It's not for nothing the phrase "It's not Amway, is it" is the reaction in virtually every Western country, whenever some unfortunate newbie uses the phrase "I'd like to discuss an opportunity with you"

It seems that morals and ethics weren't strongly featured in the Lia Sophia "family" values
