All scams are based on "current events" that the general public are actually quite ignorant in.

Back around Spanish American War it's "hidden treasures in Cuba / Carribean".

During the French Revolution it'd be "escaping nobles stashed their wealth"

Back in the 90's it's this "wonderful new thing call the Internet" (remember Skybiz?)

In 2000's it'd be "Iraqi gold" and hi-tech boom

Bitcoin is simply the latest "trendy" topic to push a scam.

Looks like SEC has made a ruling concerning Trendon T. Shavers and his bit in Bitcoin...

    U.S. SECURITIES AND EXCHANGE COMMISSION

    Litigation Release No. 23090 / September 22, 2014

Securities and Exchange Commission v. Trendon T. Shavers and Bitcoin Savings and Trust, Civil Action No. Civil Action No. 4:13-CV-416

Final Judgment Entered Against Trendon T. Shavers, A/K/A/ "Pirateat40" - Operator of Bitcoin Ponzi Scheme Ordered to Pay More Than $40 Million in Disgorgement and Penalties

The Securities and Exchange Commission announced that, on September 18, 2014, a United States District Court in Sherman, Texas entered final judgment against Trendon T. Shavers and Bitcoin Savings and Trust ("BTCST"), the online entity Shavers created and used to operate his Ponzi scheme, and through which he defrauded investors out of more than 700,000 bitcoins. The Court's judgment requires Shavers and BTCST to pay more than $40 million in disgorgement and prejudgment interest, and orders each Defendant to pay a civil penalty of $150,000.

The Commission established, and the Court found, that from February 2011 through August 2012, Shavers offered and sold investments in BTCST over the internet. Shavers solicited all investments, and paid all purported returns, in bitcoins. Operating under the internet name, "pirateat40," Shavers solicited investors in online chat rooms and on the Bitcoin Forum, an online forum dedicated to Bitcoin, promising them up to 7% returns weekly based on his claimed trading of bitcoin against the U.S. dollar, including selling bitcoins to individuals who wanted to buy them "off the radar." In reality, Shavers used new bitcoins received from BTCST investors to pay purported returns on outstanding BTCST investments, and diverted BTCST investors' bitcoins for his personal use. The Court further found that, even as he publicly denied the Ponzi scheme on the Bitcoin Forum, Shavers knowingly and intentionally operated BTCST as a sham and a Ponzi scheme, and repeatedly made materially false and misleading representations to BTCST investors and potential investors concerning the use of their bitcoins, how he would generate the promised returns, and the safety of their investments.

The Court's judgment permanently enjoins Shavers and BTCST from future violations of Sections 5 and 17(a) of the Securities Act of 1933, and Section 10(b) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and Rule 10b-5 thereunder; orders them to disgorge, on a joint and several basis, $39,638,569, plus $1,766,098 prejudgment interest thereon, for a total of $40,404,667; and orders Shavers and BTCST each to pay a $150,000 penalty.

Re: Bit Club Network - bitclubnetwork.com

Want to see a perfect example of the sort of doublespeak HYIP ponzi operators use when their latest pet scam is running out of money and about to go belly up ???

    Take a look at this
absolute nonsense from the criminals behind BitClub Network

For those of you unfamiliar with HYIPponzispeak, a translation:

"The supply of new victims has stopped so we are fast running out of money and if you don't leave your "earnings" in the system we will be running away with the money any day now"

Think I made that up ???

Check out the drop off in numbers of visits by new (and old) victims of the BitClub Network over the past thirty days:

At least the crooks behind BitClub Network don't have to worry about Black December, they'll be lucky to make it to Black Next Week

Re: Bit Club Network - bitclubnetwork.com

Someone familiar quoted in the WSJ and the best he could come up with--- their pickin on us because we dare to scam dream.

    T. Le Mont Silver Sr., who made the 2012 video predicting GoFunPlaces would go viral, said in a statement he stopped promoting the company after realizing it did business in a way he wasn’t comfortable with.

Mr. Silver, who is fighting a $1.7 million claim from a receiver related to another alleged pyramid scheme, is now promoting a project related to mining software for the virtual currency bitcoin. In his statement, Mr. Silver said he is a marketer with little knowledge of the business operations of the companies he promotes. “Yet in my chosen field, greedy law firms...and others confront us with bankrupting litigation and regulatory actions. Is this because we dare to dream and seek success?”

I don't know if I would classify running away to Costa Rica to avoid prosecution and dragging your family along too as "fighting a claim"

Dominican Republic, not Costa Rica. Much worse place, from what I remember.

Good people don't start MLMs. Good people aren't leaders in MLM.

The only good people in MLM are the ones who haven't figured out how bad MLM is.

Re: Bit Club Network - bitclubnetwork.com

Bitclub is heavily promoted in the USA under the radar. Joe Able (1 of the 3 owners of Bitclub) lives in Oxnard Ca and 90% of the Bitclub business in the USA is under him. His pyramid bitch Riccardo Ferrari runs a money loaning scheme called Credit Star Funding to finance his Bitclub business he promotes and builds exclusively in California and throughout the USA.

How do these guys blatantly thumb their noses at Federal law and regulations?

To make matters even more infuriating, Bitclubs mining contracts have not paid any commissions from mining for over a year, making the entire operation both Ponzi and a pyramid scheme.

Joe Able also flaunts his ill-begotten wealth (over 200,000 bitcoins) by showing off his latest 40 million dollar mansion he is building and his garage filled with Bentleys. Rolls Royces, Masseratis, Lamborghinis, etc.

It is common knowledge his Bitclub partner Russ Medlin is a convicted sexual predator in California but did you know his latest sidekick and US frontman Riccardo Ferrari is an also known and being sued in Florida for being a Date Rape scammer? Joe why do you surround yourself with such lowlife scum?

We are doing millions in viable applications every week.
Look into this. 7 figures can be yours in 2019.

Also, Jeanne Grosso the admin or our Facebook groups is totally
unsuccessful and broke. She tried to extort money from me or
would shut down the groups. She wanted money for my own groups?? (aka Joke)
That sick loser will never get money from me.
She shut down and compromised communications with 1700 of my members.
Why did I trust her with my groups admin? I don't know!
I never liked this whining negative woman. Beware a real nag!
My attorney is filling a law suit for $650,000.

    Hmmn,

No payments for over a year

Visitor numbers / Alexa rating through the floor.

Japan providing the largest percentage of visitors

I'd be inclined to mark this as a collapsed ponzi, wouldn't you ???

One thing's for sure, anyone who puts money into Bitclub Network now can kiss it goodbye

You do know Joe Able cleaned up earning over 230,000 Bitcoins and 98% of his downline in the USA? He is an American citizen and lives in Oxnard Cal. How arrogant can you get?

A bunch of blatant scumbags pimping the well known scam of MLM, and yet people still join and willingly give them their money. Go figure! You can hardly blame them for taking it. No doubt that’s how they view it.
