Almost all of these music majors were placed in Fundamentals / Foundations which again is not for music majors and not on any degree plan. The Steel Band is putting students way over hours and as it is a percussion ensemble would not be transferable for anyone but a percussion major most likely as it is not an ensemble for the principal instrument of the vast msjority of students. This advising is absolutely unbelievable, especially in light of the fact I was communicating with Richland Administrators including Vice Presidents last November. These music advisors should know the degree plans at Richland and all the nearby colleges where students often transfer inside and out. The chair filling party on the taxpayers, students and paying parents dime must be stopped pronto!
